Tips for using your iPhone abroad (with pictures)

Since getting my iPhone and raving about the ability I’ll now have to talk to friends for ‘free’, tons of people have been warning me about roaming charges.

So, I did some research.

And, what kind of travel blogger would I be if I didn’t share my knowledge with you?

iPhone Settings While Abroad

  1. Go into your Network Settings

2. Turn your Data Roaming Off (if on)
3. Turn off your Cellular Data

4. Turn on “Airplane Mode”

5. Your Wifi will automatically be turned off so you need to manually turn it back on

6. Turn on “FaceTime” (under settings)

7. Turn on iMessage but turn off “Send as SMS”

These settings cover all your bases. So, when you’re abroad you just need to find a wifi location and you can use your internet, FaceTime and iMessage at no cost!
